Briggensians FC took are top of division three in the T.S.W. Printers Scunthorpe & District Football League.
Yesterday afternoon (Saturday, January 7) they secured  a 3-0 home win over bottom side Santon at Sir John Nelthorpe School.
On the mark were Sol Hari, Phil Cole and Neil Gallafent.
In division one, Barnetby United drew their home game 1-1 with Scunthonians at Silver Street, the railway villagers' scorer being  Cameron Hill.
There's a big derby game coming up this Saturday (January 14) when Briggensians entertain third-placed Barnetby United Reserves at SJN (2pm KO).
Barnetby's first team will have home advantage on Saturday against Brumby in the first round of the Carousel Hospital Cup Round One (KO 1.30pm).

"BRING MUMBY ON!" That's a chant that's been heard at Brigg cricket and football matches for more years than we care to remember.  Here's veteran Col Mumby, now well into his 60s, but still fit enough to answer the call to play in summer or winter matches, as and when required. He was only a spectator at yesterday's game, but if Briggensians are ever short of a man they know where he lives!
