Brigg Town Council is keen to publicise the town's Saturdays-only passenger train service but there's been a delay in getting a price for a suitable display board to house a copy of the current timetable, to be sited at the Albert Street end of Station Road.
This proved frustrating for councillors who discussed the issue on Wednesday night in the Angel Suite. So it was decided to seek permission to display the timetable before the cost of the cabinet is known. This should speed up the process considerably.
Coun Ann Eardley wondered whether Brigg Blog and Brigg Matters Newsletter might display the timetable, to help get the information into the public domain.
Coun Jane Kitching was one of those pressing for a speed solution over the display point, saying a new timetable would be issued by the train company later this year.
Coun Chris Dyson pointed to available space underneath the Brigg railway sign at the top of Station Road. "Surely we could put something temporary up," he said, suggesting the council might laminate a large copy of the timetable.
In response to Coun Eardley's request, following the meeting Brigg Blog took a photograph of the timetable which we will post at a later date.
