Make your own minds up on that.
However, many of us earlier tonight watched a Look North report, filmed in Brigg, during which our own Coun Rob Waltham was interviewed about the hoped-for boost to trade which will result.
Hopefully, this sort of positive regional publicity will make people outside the Brigg area - perhaps even some in Yorkshire - pay us a visit.
Above is one of the signs traders put up to inform shoppers about the impending removal of the charges.

Interesting to read the Scunny Telegraph's article re Byron Teague from Brigg Fruit & Veg and Colin Jickells of Grandad's Shed enterprising action of promoting the town. Byron said that about 50 local traders have joined and donated to a fund for banners promoting free parking.
Personally, I hope this is the kick-start the high street needs and the banners, and perhaps flag poles and pennants can advertise the variety of events - from Art Festivals - the Lions Beer Festival - Farmers Markets to Brigg Fair.
If Tesco's can have numerous flag-poles, why can't Brigg have its own array of poles and advertising pennants in such places as Old Courts car park. String some advertising banners from Scalinis to Wardrobe; from the Buttercross to the Nelson.
Brigg is absolutely desperate for opportunities to promote itself..so keep back the army of jobs-worth folk bent on procedures and health and safety issue - this is an issue where local retailers and officials can take the initiative from the Government's Big Brother policy - let locals decide and take action.
