The improvement scheme planned for Brigg's County Bridge has moved a stage near getting underway with the granting of listed building consent to carry out alterations to the early 19th century grade two structure.
North Lincolnshire Council has given the go-ahead, which was no surprise, as it's the council that's come up with the worthy scheme to revamp the bridge!
We won't be getting stone balustrades which were a feature of the bridge well into the 1950s, but the ugly railings and to be replaced with something more in keeping with the Conservation Area, and the currently fenced-off walkway on one side will be brought back into use.
ALSO GRANTED: Listed building consent to retain partial demolition and re-roofing outbuilding at 5 Bigby Street, Brigg.
