FORMER BRIGG YOUTH CENTRE SITE 'CONSIDERED SUITABLE FOR RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT'

A former long-serving community building in Brigg has been placed on the property market by North Lincolnshire Council and is available for sale.
Described as the former Youth Centre on Grammar School Road, the building and adjoining land is not currently listed for housing development in the 'allocations' list.
"However, it is considered suitable for residential development, subject to planning permission," the sale particulars say.
The site is being marketed under the heading Residential development For Sale. Offers are now being invited for the freehold.
At the beginning of this year, as part of its Community Hub initiative, North Lincolnshire Council announced plans to relocate local youth services elsewhere and to dispose of the Youth Centre site.

Just around the corner from the Youth Centre the former school canteen site on Colton Street was sold off some years ago by the local authority. A number of town houses were subsequently built - forming an attractive development.
The sale board displayed on the front of the ex-Youth Centre makes it clear that Brigg Children's Centre next door (and bordering Colton Street) is unaffected.
