BRIGG FAMILY HOME PLANNED


Another Brigg planning application has been lodged, seeking approval to erect a detached dwelling on land adjacent to 1 Bramble Way, on the edge of the Newlands housing estate, after an initial scheme was turned down.
North Lincolnshire Council planners have now been informed: "This latest application has been revised to take the objection to the previous application into  account."
A statement submitted by a planning agent for the applicants says the dwelling is the same overall layout but fits better on the plot and has been moved further away to provide a less cramped appearance.
"The new dwelling has been designed to harmonise with the remainder of the site development in general and the adjacent house at No 1 Bramble Way in particular,"  the statement says.
"The proposed dwelling is a modest 3-bedroomed traditional 2-storey family home with adequate parking for two vehicles. The proposed  dwelling has been designed with no first floor windows overlooking any nearby properties, thereby retaining total privacy to all existing nearby dwellings."
Giving its reasons for refusing to approve the first application, the council advised the applicants: "The erection of a dwelling of this size, on this limited, irregular-shaped plot, with minimal separation distances from the boundaries of the site and with limited private amenity space, would create an unacceptable over-development of this relatively small site that would be out of keeping with the character of the area, and that would provide a poor living environment for future occupiers."
North Lincolnshire Council is now considering the new application, and Brigg Town Council is being consulted, as part of the planning process.
The consultation period for this application ends on April 24.
