WHAT'S ON OFFER AT THE AUGUST 2019 BRIGG FARMERS' MARKET

A busy scene at Brigg Farmers' Market as shoppers browse the many stalls

Brigg Farmers' Market will take place this Saturday (August 24) in the town centre from 9am to 3pm.
It will be accompanied by the usual Saturday general market.
These complementary events mean a busy day for stallholders and also for Brigg shops, eateries, pubs and other businesses as many more people than normal head to town.
"Visit this FARMA-accredited award-winning market and buy delicious local food from the people who produce it," the council says. "Now with over 30 stalls selling everything from ostrich to smoked salmon and home-made cakes to sauces."
The council offers FREE car parking in the town on Saturdays but visitors are advised to get there early to ensure finding a space.
The local authority runs and manages both markets which are located at DN20 8LH.
Brigg's Pancreatic Cancer Action group will be holding another of its awareness days at this Saturday's market, donations to the cause being very welcome. Members will be on Wrawby Street, near the entrance to St John's Church.

Spokesman Andrew Markham has issued a reminder about the 1980s Charity Fancy Dress Disco coming up at Brigg Town Football Club on Saturday, August 31, from 7pm.
He says the group's thanks also go to the fooball club for including a full page about this charity in its publicity material for every home game this season.
Established in 2001 and offering a wide range of produce, Brigg Farmers' Market is usually held on the fourth Saturday of the month, but often alters in December due to Christmas.
Anyone living in Northern Lincolnshire, North Nottinghamshire or South Yorkshire who has chanced upon this post online should note that they can catch a train to Brigg on Saturdays.
Three each way operate between Sheffield and Cleethorpes via Worksop, Retford, Gainsborough, Brigg, Barnetby and Grimsby.
