NEW PUB-RELATED BRIGG FANCY DRESS FUN RUN WILL HELP WORTHY CAUSE

A new pub-related fancy dress fun run is to be held in Brigg to raise funds for a worthy charity.
The Paint Brigg Pink Fun Run will benefit Soldiers Off The Street (SOTS) which "helps forgotten ex-service personnel whose lives have been affected by homelessness."
The event will take place on Monday, August 26 (a bank holiday) with runners setting off from outside the Woolpack, in the Market Place, at 11am.
Promoted by the Brigg & District Veterans' Group in association with the Britannia Inn on Wrawby Street, the run will be followed by a barbecue at The Brit.
There will be a prize for the best fancy dress costume worn by a competitor. Follow the example set by the man we photographed (above) in Brigg some years ago.
There will also be a tombola, a raffle and a throw the pink handbag competition, with all proceeds going to SOTS.
Competitors don't need to book places - just turn up on the morning of the run in the Market Place.
For those wanting to enjoy hot food on offer after the event, tickets cost £2.50p. They are now available from the bar at the Britannia.
Everyone is welcome to join the run or just spectate.
The race route, and length of run, will be announced in the near future. Brigg Blog will let you know when the details are confirmed.
We expect plenty of interest to be shown in this event. Make a note of the date and time and please support it if you can.
If you require any additional information, email the veterans' group - tina.campbell8@yahoo.co.uk or cfbrindley@btinternet.com
