COULD THIS BE THE END IF AN ERA IN BRIGG?

No sooner had Brigg Blog posted today about refurbishment of post boxes across the town than we chanced upon work to REMOVE another familiar feature from our streets.
There has been a public telephone call box or kiosk near the junction of West Square, Glebe Road and Central Square for decades.
There was a tradional red version on this site in 1963 when our family moved to this part of town.
However, BT has given notice that it intends to remove the current call box located here  this week.
As yet we are unsure whether a replacement is planned, but with so many folk of all ages now owning mobiles we think this unlikely.
We hope to post further information later.
