A railway walk is taking place on Saturday, 15th July - using the Saturdays-only train service on the Brigg Line
Stuart Parker, of the Lincolnshire Ramblers, said : “The 6 mile linear walk follows public footpaths around Barnetby then heads across the fields to Wrawby windmill, which is the last working postmill in the north of England. It will give fine views of the Wolds and over the Ancholme Valley.
“Walkers will come from Sheffield and North Nottinghamshire on the first train which departs Sheffield at 08.03.
“There’ll be plenty of time in the afternoon to look around Brigg’s wide selection of independent shops and eateries before catching the return train departing Brigg at 15.50 to Sheffield or the 17.20 train to Grimsby and Cleethorpes. ”
All are welcome to take part, the walk is free but train fares apply.
The train departs Gainsborough Central at 09.00, Kirton Lindsey 09.15, Brigg 09.24 to Barnetby.
Depart : Cleethorpes 09.26, Grimsby 09.34 to Barnetby for the start of the walk at 10am.
