The acclaimed new build Vale Academy is now almost complete and once pupils and staff have moved in, the school's existing buildings will be surplus to requirements.
Hence the 'take a last look' reunion later this month when former pupils, going back as far as the 1950s, are being invited along to view their old classrooms one last time.
The Vale's Martin North has now supplied further details about the get-together and provided some food for thought.
"The PTA are putting on tea and coffee (for a small charge) for school funds, and also our food room will be open on the evening selling school puddings as they used to be!
"Remember that lovely rice pudding?"
Glanford Secondary Modern, on Redcombe Lane (catering for Brigg residents) and Westmoor Secondary Modern (serving pupils from nearby villages) opened in 1955 and 1959 respectively in then brand new premises.
Brigg Secondary School followed, then the Vale of Ancholme Comprehensive, the Vale Techology & Music College and the currently-named Vale Academy.
We expect a large turn-out for this farewell open night on November 25. But the proof of the pudding is in the eating, as the saying goes.
If you are a former pupil, or know someone who is, please comply with Martin's request by attending the reunion and/or helping to spread the word about this get-together.
