BRIGG FOLK CAN DISCOVER LINCOLNSHIRE'S RICH HERITAGE

Get a taste of Lincolnshire's unique past with free activities from 8 – 11 September, as part of the national Heritage Open Days initiative.
Lincolnshire County Council's heritage attractions have a whole host of events planned for the special weekend, which celebrates national architecture and culture.
Coun  Nick Worth, executive member for heritage says: "There's so much to learn about our rich history in Lincolnshire and we've got some wonderful attractions. Heritage open days are a perfect chance to try a different day out, or enjoy a favourite family attraction with even more to see and do for free!"

The Usher Gallery, Lincoln
Explore the finest examples of 'Natural Lincolnshire' with free tours of the gallery. These tours will take place at 11am on Friday and Saturday. Spaces are limited so please call 01522 550990 to book your place.

The Lincolnshire Archives
Get a fascinating insight into Lincoln's excavators and their role in the destruction and construction that changed the face of 20th century Lincoln.  The talk entitled 'Lincoln Excavators: Working at Home' will be held on Saturday, 1pm to 3pm.

Museum of Lincolnshire Life, Lincoln
Family fun day 'Dig for Victory' on Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
Win prizes in the family quiz. Hunt out clues in the museum about how people survived by growing and making their own food during the Second World War.

Lincoln Castle
Free tours of the Castle grounds on Saturday and Sunday at 11am, 12noon, 1.30pm, 2.30pm and 3.30pm. Experienced guides will reveal stories of the castle's past.

Gainsborough Old Hall
Family fun day 'The Medieval Herb Garden' on Saturday and Sunday 10am to 5pm
Visitors can enjoy guided tours by costumed guides of the Old Hall.
Plus - Demonstrations of how herbs were used in medicine and cookery through the medieval period; Family quiz; Children's crafts.
