BRIGG PEOPLE CAN GET FREE ADVICE ON APPLYING FOR NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL JOBS

FROM NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL

The Action Station is continuing to provide free job application workshops that focus on applying for North Lincolnshire Council jobs.
The Action Station team will work with people aged 16 and above, whether unemployed or looking to move on in their line of work, supporting them to improve their prospects of finding work, and track down the best training for their needs.
The job application appointments are specific to those wanting to work for the council. The sessions give prospective candidates the chance to look at what applying for a council job entails, how the process works, different job specifications and job descriptions and how to create a successful application.
The sessions will run at the Action Station, Cole Street, Scunthorpe, between 10am and 3pm on:

  • Friday 16 and 30 September
  • Friday 14 and 28 October
  • Friday 11 and 25 November

If you would like to book an hour appointment slot on any of these dates, call 01724 296969.
Applications for North Lincolnshire Council should specify what skills, knowledge and experience the applicant has. To be shortlisted the applicant must meet the essential criteria being measured from the application form. Applicants must study the employee specification carefully.
The job application appointments are in place to support and give advice and information throughout the process of applying for a council job.
Action Station is a council run initiative aimed at providing skills, training and information on job opportunities for people in North Lincolnshire. Action Station, the one stop shop, signposts people to potential employers and provides the materials for them to update their qualifications and skills to get them further in their career.
Coun Rob Waltham, from Brigg, Cabinet Member for Business, Innovation, Employment and Skills (pictured above), said: “The job application workshops are a fantastic idea. With the Action Station guiding applicants through the process it makes it less stressful. They are a great group and can help if you are unemployed or are looking to bring your qualifications up-to-date. Staff at the station work hard to assess the individual’s needs and find the right opportunity for them.”
The Action Station is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm
