OUR TALK TO BRIGG AMATEUR SOCIAL HISTORIANS

A number of very kind people have heard that we have been invited to give a talk to Brigg Amateur Social Historians early next year and have indicated that they intend to pop along on the night.
We've been asked what the subject will be, to which the answer is a look at the Lincolnshire Times archive pictures of noted photographer and former Brigg Town Mayor Bryan Robins, late of King's Avenue - a long-serving member of Brigg Urban District Council and then Brigg Town Council.
BASH chairwoman Josie Webb inquired whether we'd be able to talk on Tuesday, February 2 - at Brigg Servicemen's Club (8pm start).
We will post a reminder nearer the date.
Last time we talked to BASH about the History of the Lincolnshire Times weekly newspaper, which closed in 1985, it was surprising how many folk turned up.  It proved a fun night with many memories shared and enjoyed.
We plan to take along some original, yellowing, copies of the Lincolnshire Times to pass round the audience... and collect them up at the end of the night to use again at a future talk.
