BRIGG VISITORS FROM ‘THE POOL’ DIDN’T WANT POOL

Brigg Snooker Club before the site was turned over to new housing.
We met a group of workmen in Bigby Street  on Sunday seeking Brigg Snooker Club.
Sadly, we had to tell them they were a few years too late to enjoy some frames at this once-popular venue, which was fashioned from part of the former Layne’s garage complex.
As we pointed out to the lads who were from the Liverpool area, judging by their accents, there is now housing where the club used to stand.

We suggested a few pool venues but they only appeared to want the snooker club.

The housing development in Brigg where the snooker club once stood includes a plaque marking the foundation of Layne's garage in 1914.
