BRIGG STATION TO GET NEW FOOTBRIDGE, FRIENDS REVEAL

The footbridge at Brigg railway station

FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE BRIGG & LINCOLN LINES

Our rail group have now officially received conformation that the planned repairs and repainting of both Brigg & Gainsborough Central footbridges on the Sheffield - Cleethorpes via Brigg railway line have been cancelled.
This is due to brand new replacement footbridges been built at Brigg and Gainsborough Central in the summer of 2015.
This is due to campaigning by both the Friends Of The Brigg & Lincoln Lines rail group who work in partnership with the Gainsborough Rail & Bus Group (GRaB) and from locals and customers who use both stations.
The present Network Rail footbridges are aged around 120 years old and are in a state of disrepair, with the Brigg Footbridge having a 10 persons weight limit due to its fragile state.

If the newish footbridge at Barnetby is anything to go by....it'll be so big that it will overpower Brigg....and will be a landmark capable of being seen from the Moon with the naked eye....
