BRIGG COLLECTION TEAMS DESERVE PRAISE
Brigg Blog feels it only right to draw attention to praiseworthy work by the local refuse and recycling collection crews.
As we couldn't cram all our household Christmas waste in the wheelie bin, nor pack all our cans and bottles into the recycling box, we decided to try our luck.
We left a dustbin bag full of general waste (mostly crumpled Christmas wrapping paper) beside the wheelie bin and a black bag filled with drinks cans on top of the green box.
This was a bit cheeky as North Lincolnshire Council never said it would take extra "side waste" from Brigg households on Monday, December 31.
However, both our black bags were duly taken by the collectors, which to us was above and beyond the call of duty.
In respect of the general waste, it saved us a drive over to the household site near Broughton.
A helpful message Brigg Blog spotted online had hinted that extra black bags might be taken by the crews when they made the last collections in 2018. So we thought we'd give it a go.
Clearly the season of goodwill was still in evidence on December 31.
