'POP' ALONG TO BOTTLES GALORE, THE BRIGG EXHIBITION

The exhibition called Bottles Galore is already creating  interest at Brigg Heritage Centre, in the Angel building, off the Market Place.
Heritage Centre trustee Kay Rothery told Brigg Blog: "The exhibition has a wonderful selection of old bottles, both glass and stoneware, kindly lent by local businessman and collector Steve Mundey.
"We explore the history of brewing in the town and some of the many inns and businesses that sold alcoholic beverages in the 19th and early 20th century and also look at mineral water manufacturers.
"The exhibition has a quick look at the origins of Springs and also some of the multitude of other businesses of that time that sold their wares in glass bottles.
"Our research discovered a very bustling, busy township of Brigg in days gone by and the diversity of those businesses was amazing.
"We have a Memory Tree on which a message in bottle can be hung and other related events such as craft days for children will be held during the period of the exhibition which closes at the end of May.
"The Centre is open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10-2 and Saturday 10-3."
