BRIGG LADIES TAKE NOTE:

Ladies have until Market Rasen Racecourse’s fixture on Sunday to bid to become the ‘Face of Ladies Days’ at the Lincolnshire track this year.
One lucky lady will win an array of prizes including taking part in a photoshoot in April, having a table for four people at both of the Ladies’ Days, receiving two tickets for ‘Rasen Rocks’ on Saturday, 13th August, starring Jess Glynne, plus joining the best dressed judging panel at each Ladies’ Day which are on Friday, 3rd June and Saturday, 16th July.
To enter, all that ladies need to do is to post a photo of themselves on the racecourse’s Facebook page. The top five photographs with the most likes and shares will be selected to be put in front of three judges who will announce the winner live at the racecourse on Easter Monday, 28th March.
Nadia Gollings, General Manager, Market Rasen Racecourse, said: “Ladies’ days are one of the great success stories of the horse racing industry, helping to boost attendances for the country’s second most popular spectator sport which attracted six million visitors across Britain last year. These occasions at Market Rasen Racecourse are hugely popular so we are delighted to be searching for an ambassador who will become ‘The Face of Ladies’ Days’ at the racecourse.”
Meantime, four Lincolnshire trainers could be contenders for prizes at the racecourse this Sunday. Steve Gollings, Olly Williams, Nick Kent (from the Brigg area) and Michael Chapman have each entered horses for some of the seven races – six of them sponsored by TV channel Racing UK - which begin at 2.15pm.
Steve Gollings could run Caged Lightning in the feature handicap hurdle at 4.30pm. Brigg’s Nick Kent also has Lord Golan engaged in that race – and his other potential runner is Spendajennie in the mares’ handicap hurdle, the penultimate race.
Olly Williams has entered Xenophon in the 3.20pm handicap chase run over a distance just short of three miles. Market Rasen handler Michael Chapman has two chances – The Society Man in the same 3.20pm race and Duc de Seville in the finale.
On Sunday, accompanied under 18s are admitted free of charge. Adult tickets bought in advance are £7.20 (Lawn Enclosure), £14.40 (Tattersalls) and £18.90 (County Enclosure). They can be purchased by telephone on 0844 579 3009 or online at www.marketrasenraces.co.uk.
With Easter falling early this year, the racecourse is holding a meeting on Easter Monday, 28th March - Charlie & The Chocolate Factory Family Fun Day. A big crowd always attends the bank holiday meeting, attracted by the free entertainment for children. Come and meet the Easter Bunny, Willy Wonka and enjoy a bouncy castle, face painter, fairground slide, pony hoppers, fairground stalls and much more.
