BRIGG TOWN CENTRE PARKING PROBLEM

We assume North Lincolnshire Council's traffic enforcement section is well aware of  vehicles  being parked on the paved area  of Wrawby Street, close to the White Horse pub & restaurant.
It would be wrong to assume they are customers of the new JD Wetherspoon hostelry. However, since the pub opened in its new guise and began attracting huge numbers of visitors, it can now prove difficult to find a parking space at that end of Wrawby Street,  along Queen Street or in the bays either side of Bigby Street.
Both White Horse rear car parks disappeared when the pub was revamped and greatly extended. There is no legal requirement for a pub to provide car parking for patrons.
Early evening last Friday we managed to get a parking space in this part of town and were able to visit the Nisa Local shop as planned. However,  the previous two Fridays, about the same time of night, we'd failed to do so and drove off without putting anything into Mr Dent's till.

A number of folks have already shown concern about cars parking on paved plaza area near the White Horse.
Contrary to what you say, Nige, 'Parking on a Pavement' is not directly a North Lincs Enforcement problem - ie it is NOT a civil parking problem.....it is a criminal offence of obstruction and is the responsibility of the bobbies..and can carry penalty points on driving licence.
Essentially, NL Enforcement revolves about on and off-street parking civil offences, while the police retain the criminal offences resulting from moving traffic and obstruction incursions.
There is also concern being expressed by residents in Grammar School Rd South of cars also parking on the footpath near residential properties.....

PERHAPS A WITCH'S WARNING NEEDS TO BE GIVEN B4 MORE SERIOUS ACTION, OFTEN RESULTING IN BAD FEELINGS...IS TAKEN....

In the meantime, residents in nearby Albert Street have recently kicked the opportunity of Residents Parking Permits.....I wonder if they will have second thoughts as the need of on-street parking increases in the area.....
