BRIGG CRIME FIGURES ON SHOW FOR SEPTEMBER

In a very recent posting we flagged up the fact that September crime figures for Brigg (and the rest of Humberside) were still unavailable  towards the end of October, and that those for August were the latest the public had to go on.
We emailed our thoughts to the folk controlling the (national) police website and received a courteous reply, which  explained: "The data provided on the website is sent to us monthly by police forces, and now with the inclusion of outcomes information (police action / court outcomes) the website is updated with the previous month’s data by the last date of the month.  Police.uk provides much more frequent data than the previous annual statistics available on the Home Office website, and to confirm, by the end of October, you will have September’s data available on the website."
The "stats" for Brigg did, indeed, appear by the end of the month. But Brigg Blog still thinks that, with all today's modern technology, it should be possible to get the information online much more quickly than this.
Perhaps the posting of crime figures into the public domain will be a topic for consideration by the very first Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner, to be appointed by public vote on November 15.
Evening All.
