Just a reminder that tomorrow (Tues Jan 5) sees the first meeting of the new year for Brigg Amateur Social Historians (BASH) at Brigg Servicemen's Club (8pm).
This will be a Patriotic WWII Show featuring all the old songs that helped to win the war. Plus original radio broadcasts from the war years.
BASH says: "Enjoy a sing-along and, if you wish, dress in 1940s style to add to the spirit of the evening. Bring a Union Flag ('Union Jack')."
Hopefully the icy weather will not deter folk from attending what promises to be a very nostalgic and interesting event.

The Union Flag should only be referred to as a Union Jack when it is flown from the jack-staff at bow (front) of (usually) a RN vessels. It can also be flown by the 'Dunkirk Little Ships' as a Union Jack.
Ensigns are flow from the stern (back) - White = RN; Red = Merchant Navy and Blue = RAF (ie air-sea rescue craft...or nowadays, it could be an RAF sailing club.
There are exceptions - ie Nelson flew the Union Jack at the top of the mast.
The Union Flag should be flown the right way up - the wider section of the white diagonals (the Scots Solitaire) should be uppermost in relation to the mast.
A national flag flown upside down is a recognised SOS distress signal.
QUESTION:
