HEALTHY COMPETITION IN BRIGG

There's nothing wrong with a bit of healthy competition. And in Brigg at present there's a choice when it comes to off-loading those unwanted items from your household.
Earlier this week we reported that people in the Brigg area are now being asked to donate unwanted CDs and music players to help a new project North Lincolnshire Council has set up called Music Counts, assisting people with physical and cognitive impairments.
Take your donations to the Community Well-Being Hub on Horstead Avenue (Springbank housing estate). Read the full story here...
However, Brigg charity shops would rather like your donations, too.
For example, there's a sign in the Oxfam Bookshop window, on Wrawby Street, urging locals: "Relinquish your records, CDs and DVDs."
You can take unwanted items like these, and all kinds of saleable goods, to  various charity shops in Brigg, the others being run by the Red Cross, Lindsey Lodge Hospice, Sue Ryder, RSPCA and Oxfam (yes, it has two shops on Wrawby Street).
The Oxfam Bookshop (pictured) is also seeking a volunteer to work there who's prepared to give up four hours of his/her time a week. Pop in and pick up an application form if you feel you can assist.
