BRIGG TOWN CRICKETERS TOP THE TABLE AFTER BIG AWAY WIN WHILE BROUGHTON AND HIBALDSTOW ALSO ENJOY VICTORIES


A fine, unbeaten innings from opener Jack Richards (pictured) helped Brigg Town Cricket Club record an emphatic win at Horncastle yesterday (Saturday, May 19).
Jack led the way with an unbeaten 88 as Brigg recorded their second successive maximum points victory in Lincolnshire County Cricket League division four.
Wicketkeeper/batsman Mark Dawson added 40 and Jim Wood a late 20 as Town rattled up 227 for seven in their 45 overs.
Horncastle were then bowled out for only 66, in the 29th over, with Danny 'Salad' Dewfall taking four for nine, Jack Richards two for 14 and Owen Dunderdale two for 17.
Result: Brigg Town (20pts) beat Horncastle (3pts) by 161 runs.

Brigg sit proudly at the top of the table alongside East Halton, both sides having taken 45 points from their opening three fixtures.
In division one, Broughton enjoyed a six-wicket home win over Keelby, opening batsmen Neil Simpson and Shaun Clark making 61 not out and 61 respectively. Left-armer Shaun had earlier taken three for 27 in 15 tight overs.
In division two, Hibaldstow were victorious by six wickets in their high-scoring home game with Grimsby Town 2nds.
Grimsby posted 204 for eight, which the villagers surpassed with 13.1 overs to spare.
Long-serving opener and groundsman Jon Taylor finished undefeated with 64 while Joe Taylor cracked 45 before retiring  his innings to go to work!
There was also a handy 32 not out from Josh Cowling.
In division three, Broughton 2nds won well at Alkborough 2nds, who were dismissed for only 64, Andrew Hillyard bagging six for 11.
Former Brigg Town strokemaker Nigel Barnes (with 24) and Lee Stothard (14 not out) then made telling contributions as Broughton secured a five-wicket win.
