BRIGG RAILWAY LANDMARK TO BE REPAIRED

We understand there are plans to repair and repaint the footbridge at Brigg railway station in the new year, perhaps as early as January.
This is very welcome news - our iron footbridge being one of the few originals remaining on the former Manchester Sheffield and Manchester Railway mainline.
The old footbridge ought to be considered for grade two listed status, in our humble opinion.
How about someone in authority making the necessary application?
We lost the historic brick "coal drops" near the station - demolished in the 1990s, since when there has been no redevelopment or use of the former coal yard area.
Brigg has been on the national railway network since the 1840s and our station once had a super range of buildings, with a portico entrance to the booking hall and an all-enclosing roof canopy.
All that now remains now...two truncated platforms and the iron bridge.
