ROYAL MESSAGE OF CONGRATULATIONS FROM BRIGG

Brigg Town Council is to send the Queen a message to mark the 60th anniversary of her Coronation.
It will give thanks for her loyal service to the country and the townsfolkof Brigg.
The Town Council agreed to send the message at its April meeting, held this week in the Angel Suite.
A request from the Brigg Town Business Partnership for bunting to be erected in the town was well received.
However, the partnership is to be asked to contribute towards the cost, which will runs into hundreds of pounds. Coun Rob Waltham suggested a 50/50 split between the authority and the traders' group.
Town Mayor Coun Carl Sherwood thought that if the bunting went up for the royal milestone it should stay up throughout the summer.
It is likely some shops will decorate their windows next month for the anniversary, as they did for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
