BRIGG SAYS IT WITH FLOWERS & BAND MUSIC - ALL FOR A PENNY FARTHING!

Brigg is historic and some might feel rather stuck in its ways, but can still throw up a few surprises from time to time - even if you have lived in the town for decades.
Last night (Tuesday, June 30) we set off in pleasant weather to walk to the town centre to take a picture of Molly's flower shop in the Market Place - for reasons to be explained in a moment.
Having entered the pedestrian area near Cross Street, we could heard what sounded like brass band music in the distance.
Were we about to encounter the phantom band of the town centre mentioned during Brigg ghost walks?
No, the tunes were coming courtesy of a few musicians having a practice (social distancing in place).
Having turned the corner into Cary Lane, our attention was drawn to a man with a penny farthing Victorian-style bicycle in the distance, at the end of Market Lane. However, this was no ghost!
But let's return to Molly's and give an update to go with the picture above.
The business is now informing customers that, after 18 fabulous years in Brigg town centre, it s moving to a home-based workshop, from Monday, July 6 - offering free delivery in Brigg, Wrawby and Scawby Brook.
It says: "You'll get the same great service and quality but, thanks to lower overheads, even better value." The contact number remains the same - 01652 650356.
