BRIGG BARS BUSY ON FIRST SATURDAY AFTER LOCKDOWN

Four Brigg town centre pubs reopened after lockdown on Saturday (July 4).
The Lord Nelson, Black Bull, Woolpack and Wetherspoon's White Horse welcomed back customers as the government removed its blanket closure imposed in late March due to the Coronavirus emergency.
Brigg Town Football Club also raised the shutters at its licensed Hawthorns clubhouse.
People visiting town centre hostelries saw some changes in where they could sit and stand.
However, in the three bars we visited cash appeared to be perfectly acceptable, although the majority of customers were paying by card or smartphone.
In pub terms, Brigg on July 4 was busy but the huge attendance some were forecasting failed to materialise.

In terms of buying a pint, sitting down and having a chat with others it wasn't much different to how things were prior to lockdown in late March, However, arm bumps had to substitute for handshakes to comply with social distancing requirements.
