NEW BRIGG FOODFEST WILL FEATURE INTERNATIONAL DISHES & SWEET TREATS

A date has now been announced for the forthcoming Brigg FoodFest 2019.
The organisers say: "We'll be bringing a range a food stalls to Brigg, including local favourites, international dishes and sweat treats."
North Lincolnshire Council hosted the first in this new series of festivals a few weeks ago, and it attracted a 1,500 attendance in Crowle on the Isle of Axholme.
Another has been held since in Scunthorpe, and it will be Brigg's turn on FRIDAY, March 27. Trading hours will be noon to 8pm.
The location is given as Wrawby Street, rather than the Market Place.
Please note that this will be in addition to the Saturday farmers' market held in late March - it will still take place as planned on the 28th (the day after the FoodFest).
To give Brigg Blog followers a flavour of what's on offer, the initial FoodFest in Crowle during early November saw visitors sampling mouth-watering meats from The Pink Pig, crepes from The Crepe Company, pizzas from Pizza Mamma, a hog roast from Lion Outside Bars, German sausages from the German Swing Grill, milkshakes from Moo Moo’s and The Cookie People Company’s cookies.
Brigg Town Councillors have already discussed and welcomed this addition to the events calender.
Major events on a Friday are not something Brigg has seen much of in recent years. So it will be interesting to see the turn out by shoppers and the increased footfall generated within the town centre, which will benefit local businesses.
Make a note of the date; we'll post an extended preview nearer the time, including details of the traders confirmed to attend by North Lincolnshire Council.
