BRIGG TOURIST 'DRIVE' PAYING OFF

Some tourists from the other side of the Pennines were among the audience at a Brigg hostelry's live music show on Saturday (January 18).
A small group of men from Bolton, in Lancashire, came over to stay at the Woolpack Hotel, with one of them celebrating his birthday. We gather they are lorry drivers whose work has brought them to our town from time to time.
It was good to see a few tourists in Brigg - even in mid-January!
They joined regulars to enjoy the gig at The Woolie by Sheffield-based band Mad About Mandy who put their slant on a wide selection of familiar songs from the 1970s onwards. Pictured here performing one of their numbers, the band went down well with the audience.
Having originally intended to stop for only half-an-hour and have a word with landlady Sarah Hardy, we ended up staying for the second half of their show.
Brigg Blog has suggested the Bolton boys might consider making a return trip on the weekend before Brigg Horse Fair 2020 or even on the big day itself - Wednesday, August 5. We shall see...
