THREE GENERATIONS OF BRIGG SPORTSMEN

Fresh from a tonic league victory at the weekend, Brigg Town Cricket Club will be in cup action this Saturday (May 5).
Brigg, who play in division four of the Lincolnshire County Cricket League (sponsored by Readers), will be away to Messingham 2nds (division two) in the first round of the Bob Welton Cup knockout competition (1.30pm start at the Northfield Road ground near the edge of the village).
Brigg won well on Saturday after journeying to Haxey 2nds and securing the maximum 20 points available.
Haxey were bowled out for 84, Owen Dunderdale and Nick Beacock both taking three wickets, Danny Minshall two and Paul Neal and Jason Nutting one apiece.
Brigg lost only two wickets in securing victory, Jack Richards making 35 not out, James Wood 19 and skipper Nigel Beacock 17 not out.
Young Owen is the third generation of his family to play for Brigg Town. So it's pleasing to see him performing well.
Saturday's match at Haxey was kindly sponsored by Just Chic Interiors, of Doncaster, offering bespoke, upcycled furniture with a glamorous touch.
