BRIGG TOWN CENTRE SHOP IMPROVEMENT UNDER WAY

Hundreds of people have been walking past a redevelopment site in Brigg town centre.
Some of them will have worked out what's going on, but a good number may be wondering.
So here's a brief insight...
North Lincolnshire Council has granted planning permission for the replacement of the shop front at 73 Wrawby Street,  the former Ambience premises.
The successful application was submitted by DDM Residential, of 72 Wrawby Street (next door).
A statement accompanying the request for permission said it was proposed to redevelop the site "in a way that preserves and enhances the principle elevation and the traditional buildings around it, while at the same time improving Wrawby Street."
North Lincolnshire Council's conservation section told planners: "The replacement shop front is of a traditional style and is constructed from timber and is appropriate for the Brigg Conservation Area.
Brigg Town Council said it supported the proposal.
Brigg Blog was interested to see that North Lincolnshire Council consulted its highways department over this application. For the site in question is in the centre of the pedestrian area!
We think the inclusion of highways on the list of consultees was purely routine.
However, those of us who visit the the town centre regularly know that Wrawby Street is far from vehicle-free, with many drivers choosing to ignore the 'no entry' signs at either end.
