BRIGG PRESENCE AT LINCOLNSHIRE SHOW

Among those manning North Lincolnshire Council's stand at next week's Lincolnshire Show will be Coun Rob Waltham, from Brigg, whose many roles include being Deputy Leader of the authority.
Businesses looking to expand and recruit, and North Lincolnshire  residents, are invited to come meet the council's tourism and economic development teams on the Lincoln Showground, on Wednesday and Thursday, June 22 and 23.
"We will be highlighting all that is great about North Lincolnshire," says the authority.
"North Lincolnshire is a fantastic place to live, work, play and stay.  Pop along to our stand and discover what we have to offer today and what we are developing for tomorrow.
"There will be an interactive map that allows you to see all the brilliant attractions and accommodation across North Lincolnshire.
"We will be encouraging green tourism including re-launching the cycle routes maps, which are available to buy or you can download to your mobile phone or GPS computer.
"Each cycle route has been captured on a camera and you can travel the route on screen.
"If you're feeling full of energy, why not help us cycle around the boundary of North Lincolnshire? We will be looking for volunteers over the two days to help us ‘cycle’ the perimeter of the area on the bicycle simulator – use your pedal power to help us!
"A free gift will be given to anyone who visits our stand and will be entered into the free prize draw for a Garmin cycle computer – a must for any cyclists, runners and walkers.
"Staff will be on hand to demonstrate how to use the interactive map and talk to you about the investment in the area and what is happening with our plans for Lincolnshire Lakes.
"We will be launching our 3D interactive model of the Lincolnshire Lakes project – come along and talk to us about this exciting transformational project in North Lincolnshire."
You will be able to learn more about the project from the team.
Two local triathletes who represented Great Britain recently, will be on hand to talk about how Lincolnshire Lakes will boost the economy by putting North Lincolnshire firmly on the map as a home of international, national and local sporting events.
Businesses wishing to talk about their plans for development or looking for advice can drop-in to speak to the economic development team.
Leader of the Council, Coun Liz Redfern and Deputy Leader Coun Rob Waltham will be on hand to meet visitors and talk to them about North Lincolnshire.
"Businesses in North Lincolnshire have been invited to join us at Lincolnshire Show," says the council. "If your invite hasn’t arrived, please email businessinfo@northlincs.gov.uk or call 01724 297330.
"If you are thinking of starting or moving your business to North Lincolnshire, come and find out what support and help is available.
"There will be a free prize draw for businesses to win a mini tablet – just leave your business card with us to enter.
"You will find our stand on Row C – so why not pop along and discover North Lincolnshire."
Coun Waltham, who is also Cabinet Member for Business, Innovation, Employment and Skills, said: “This year we are doing something very different with our stand that will allow people to find out about tourism in North Lincolnshire. We have made it very interactive with our videos that show the beautiful cycling routes throughout North Lincolnshire.
“There are some fantastic attractions right on our doorstep. Come along and discover North Lincolnshire.
“North Lincolnshire is the place to be and is firmly on the map as a tourist destination and a place to do business. We are looking forward to meeting residents and businesses across Lincolnshire to show them why they should be visiting and investing in North Lincolnshire.
“Millions of pounds are being invested over the next couple of years in North Lincolnshire, including the Lincolnshire Lakes project, new office developments in Scunthorpe town centre, cycling routes to link North Lincolnshire and Able UK Marine Energy Park.”
Many Brigg people visit the Lincolnshire Show each year as spectators and a good many local businesses have stands, including Peacock and Binnington (pictured above by Brigg Blog at a previous year's show).
You can buy show tickets online CLICK HERE or pay on the gate on either day.
