CHRISTMAS & NEW YEAR BIN COLLECTIONS IN BRIGG

Brigg Blog has congratulated North Lincolnshire Council in the past for the efficient way it organises the  bin collections at bank holidays, with Brigg households among those sharing the benefit.
Bin stickers outlining the collection days from this month through to October 2016 have now been delivered to Brigg households.
We, like many in this area, we generally get a Tuesday collection. So here are the vitally important Christmas and New Year bin dates:

  • MONDAY, December  21: Green/grey general waste bin, green & blue boxes, textile bag, carrier bag for small electrical items.
  • TUESDAY, December 29: Green/grey bin AND burgundy bin.
  • WEDNESDAY, January 6: Green/grey general waste bin, green & blue boxes, textile bag, carrier ban for small electrical items.
The only disappointment, perhaps, is that we can't have a collection of our can and bottle bin immediately after Christmas - a time of the year when there will be peak demand.
We trust that there will be arrangements in place to ensure that the so-called bottle banks in the Old Courts Road car park and at Tesco are emptied shortly before Christmas to ensure  they will be able to cope with all the extra items Brigg people will be be depositing in the days after December 25.
