Some weeks ago we commented on this section of tree which had fallen into the Old River Ancholme, close to the County Bridge and the White Hart’s beer garden. Clearly no-one in authority regards it as a hazard to boaters or rowers. Or is it housing ducks’ or birds’ nests, perhaps. In the old days we might have made a trunk call (groan!) to tip off what used to be Anglian Water about the issue. But we’ll rely on the far-reaching powers of the internet to remind the Environment Agency.

....I understand the problem lies with the EA, Scribs.
Technically, a 12 feet corridor either side of the Ancholme falls within their responsibility.......that's why Tesco have had to re-design their application plans; the proposed river-side wall was too close to the riverbank and encroached upon EA land.
