VITAL GAME COMING UP FOR BRIGG TOWN ON THE DAY ENGLAND FOOTBALLERS PLAY IN WORLD CUP QUARTER FINAL

Brigg Town cricketers face one of their most important games of the season tomorrow (Saturday, July 7) on the same day that England play Sweden in their World Cup 2018 quarter final, in Russia.
Division four leaders Brigg will host second-placed East Halton at the Recreation Ground, off Wrawby Road.

Although some Lincs League games are starting early so the players can take an afternoon break to watch the international football match on TV, Brigg v East Halton will still begin at the scheduled time -  1.30pm.
Victory for Brigg  will be a real boost to their hopes of securing the coveted championship pennant, and promotion for 2019.
East Halton and Brigg first played each other in the Grimsby Saturday League back in the mid-1970s, and later in the Lincolnshire League.
In more recent times they met in the Hull-based East Yorkshire Alliance before both clubs gained re-admission to the Lincolnshire competition.
A good number of retired Brigg players have been going down to the Rec to watch Brigg Town in action this season. This trend will continue tomorrow, with other spectators welcome to watch the action.

It should prove to be an interesting encounter.
