BRIGG TOWN EXTEND LEAD AT THE TOP OF THE TABLE

Our table-topping Brigg Town cricketers extended their lead with a fine win over their nearest rivals yesterday (Saturday, July 7).
Brigg defeated second-placed East Halton by eight wickets at the Recreation Ground, off Wrawby Road, in a Lincolnshire County Cricket League division four encounter.
Having won the toss and decided to bat first, East Halton only managed 50 runs before being dismissed in the 23rd over of the scheduled 45.
Brigg employed the same bowlers throughout - Tom Brock (pictured above) taking five for 30 and Liam Redmond four for 17.
Despite losing both opening batsmen when they began their reply, Town cruised to victory in the 15th over.
Mark Dawson finished 15 not out at the close, with Matthew Bell unbeaten on 20.
Result: Brigg Town (20 pts) beat East Halton (0 pts) by eight wickets.
