FIRST WAVE OF SEASON ARRIVE AT BRIGG PUB BY BOAT

People generally arrive at Brigg pubs on foot.
A few like to cycle, while others choose Hornsby's No 4 bus to get them into the town centre.
Some groups (with designated non-alcohol consuming driver) come by car.
We've even been round Brigg watering holes on a Saturday afternoon with friends from Grimsby who let the train take the strain.
But one pub can go a stage further. For  the White Hart is the only hostelry in the heart of the town offering access for boats from the River Ancholme, as demonstrated by this picture from Ken Harrison, of Brigg Matters Magazine.
Ken says the boat's skipper was enjoying a day on the river, coming to town to take his daughter and friends 'Around the Island' and included a landing stage stop off at the Hart.
The pub's extensive beer garden - overlooking the Old River Ancholme and the County Bridge - is always a very popular spot during the warmer months of the year.
