STORE NEAR BRIGG TO CREATE 15 JOBS

North Lincolnshire Council planners are accepting comments from the general public about an application to provide a new Co-op store near Brigg which is intended to create 15 jobs.
The retail outlet is earmarked for land off West Street, Scawby.
The closing date for public comment is July 28. Email planning@northlincs.gov.uk
Planning permission is being sought by Lincolnshire Co-operative Ltd to build a single-storey neighbourhood food store, the creation of a new vehicular and pedestrian access, car parking, external plant equipment, landscaping and associated works.
Proposed opening hours are 7am to 10pm - seven days a week.
There's a Co-op store in Broughton, and a new one in Hibaldstow (near the chippie) will be opening in the not too distant future.
Will Brigg get a new Co-op outlet eventually? That's the question of interest to us. And one we've asked before.
Secondly, do they still pay out local "Divi" to reward customer loyalty?

Your question about the Divi, Nige...the answer is no, yes, no, yes, don't know...
The old Divi, in which scheme I got a pair of brown sandals using Grannie Turner's Co-op Divi in the 1950's, was phased out in the 1970's.
A Tesco-type card was introduced about 10 years ago...and that too was phased out in favour of a membership scheme, similar to the old Divi...then that too has been altered....it seems to depend on which scheme a regional Co-op society, ie Co-op Lincolnshire, is, or is not using..a bit like Brexit, but not so explosive!
