BRIGG TALK ON GUY GIBSON WHO LED THE DAMBUSTERS RAID

When they say the next meeting of Brigg Amateur Social Historians is not to be missed, they mean it!
The Life and Times of Guy Gibson - An Illustrated Lecture by 617 Squadron Historian Jim Shortland will be delivered on Tuesday April 5 at Brigg Servicemen's Club, off Coney Court, from 8pm.
This lecture covers the early life of Guy Gibson VC, through his tour of fighter command, onto various operational training units and his period with 106 Squadron before moving to RAF Coningsby in 1944 - culminating in his death in September that year.
Admission to BASH meetings is free and there's no need to book places in advance. Officials hold a raffle to help with  costs. Light refreshments will be provided. Everyone is welcome to go along.
Brigg Blog suggests going early to get a good spot in the room. This talk will be very popular.
The venue is within a few yards of Brigg's main car park, on Old Courts Road. Free parking on the night, too!
