Collective switching offers households the opportunity to sign-up to a scheme that allows the council to enter an auction with energy companies on their behalf, to secure a discounted energy price.
The scheme is run in partnership with iChoosr Ltd, the UK’s leading provider of collective switching.
You have until 12 May 2016 for paper registrations to be returned. The auction will then take place on 17 May, offers will be issued on 27 May and the scheme will close on 27 June.
To request a paper registration form or for more information contact the council on 01724 297000 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.

Coun John Briggs, cabinet member for Asset Management, Culture and Housing, said: “The collective switching scheme does all the hard work for people and could save you hundreds of pounds each year. Who wouldn’t want to make savings on their monthly bills? Many people are paying over the odds for their energy and we want to ensure that people have the best deal.
“People can be hesitant when it comes to switching suppliers because they are not sure how to or don’t have time to compare the different tariffs. With collective switching, we do all the work for you; making it safe and easy to switch. The more people that register, the cheaper the bills will be.
“Don’t miss out on this great opportunity, sign up to the collective switching scheme on 22 March and take your first steps towards making savings on your fuel bills.”
Mr Walton from Ashby who is saving around £360 a year through the collective switching scheme, said: “I was really impressed with how the council dealt with the scheme and made it easy to access. I am very happy that my fuel payments have been fixed for a year; saving me £30 a month.”
