INFRONT OF THE CAMERA FOR A CHANGE

"Yours truly" (second left) after giving a talk on the History of the Lincolnshire Times weekly newspaper to a well-attended meeting of Brigg Amateur Social Historians (BASH) at Brigg Servicemen's Club, during which members of the audience were able to look over old copies from 30 years ago. Also pictured are BASH officials Denise Torpey (left), Chris Witty and Pat Parkinson (right). Thanks go to my old mate Graham Austin for supplying the picture. BASH is preparing a report on the night's entertainment(?) to post on its website shortly.
Not often the reporter gets reported!

Is this what you call the News-Desk?

Was the colour sequence planned?
Red-Black-Red-Black??

Nigel - Thank you so much for sending me the notes of your talk and also for the news about the Lincolnshire Times reunion planned for July 2010. I plan to be there!

The notes were fascinating and took me back to those halcyon days at 57 Wrawby Street when rats as big as cats made the news and reporters made the fire.

Thanks also to Josie Webb for her kind email to me with additional updates. Lovely to hear that Peter Bell - that star of light opera and tennis - is still living in the area and that Bryan Robins occasionally attends BASH meetings. I must have been on hundreds of jobs with Bryan and his plate camera in my time as a junior reporter.

Can't wait until next July!

Best regards,

John
