SHOULD NEW ALDI STORE IN BRIGG AND HOUSING DEVELOPMENT BE SERVED BY A ROUNDABOUT OFF THE A18?

Some Brigg Blog followers may have seen a top boss from Aldi on TV recently spelling out that the very successful discount retailer is committed to expansion through additional stores in the UK.
But many people in Brigg are wondering when work is going to start on building our town's new Aldi store, off Bridge Street.
It is now more than a year since planning permission was granted by North Lincolnshire Council - the exact date being September 23, 2016.
We've been reminded of this by Brigg Town Council's response to another application that's currently going through the planning process.
It relates to building 67 new homes on the other side of the A18 off Bridge Street - the former Falcon Cycles site.
In response, Brigg Town Council says that while it supports this application in  principle, it has severe reservations regarding the  access and strongly suggests that access be via Island Carr "and eventually incorporated into the new Aldi roundabout scheme."
The application for the ex-cycle factory site is now under consideration by North Lincolnshire Council planners.
