CALLING ALL BRIGG DEDICATED FOLLOWERS OF FASHION

FROM CHRIS O'ROURKE, NORTH LINCOLNSHIRE COUNCIL

A brand new exhibition celebrating the fashions of the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s will open at North Lincolnshire Museum on Monday 11 July 2016.
For the new exhibition, Fashion in Colour, North Lincolnshire Museum asked you to have a rummage in your wardrobe for fashion faux pas from yesteryear – and you did not disappoint. Dozens of items have been loaned to the museum for the exhibition, including complete outfits and even wedding dresses!
As well as showcasing outfits and accessories from over the past 60 years, the Fashion in Colour exhibition will feature a 1980s bedroom, complete with 80s décor, furniture and toys.
There’s still time if you want to contribute to the new exhibition; you can submit photos of your past fashion hits and misses for our confessions wall.
Coun Carl Sherwood, from Brigg, Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing at North Lincolnshire Council, said: “The fact that donations from North Lincolnshire residents make up part of the Fashion in Colour exhibition adds a real local touch and means we can share our embarrassing fashion choices together!
“The museum’s annual summer fete on Saturday 23 July will also take on a fashion theme this year to celebrate the Fashion in Colour exhibition. Expect a fun packed family day boasting an assortment of activities and events, from face painting and children’s entertainment to classic cars and vintage fashion.”
Fashion in Colour will be open at North Lincolnshire Museum, Oswald Road, Scunthorpe, from 11 July until 24 December 2016. You can join in the conversation on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram by using the hashtag #fashionincolour.
