The structure being a focal point of the Market Place, it is in demand.
Should block bookings be welcomed? Or should there be a limit on the number?
It is suggested that having clear guidelines in place will be a welcome step forward.
Coun Jenny Bell told the Property & Services Committee: "We need guidelines."

I accept that Brigg TC should manage the bandstand and if, needed, to proportionally limit the use of the bandstand, so no one group, or specific groups have have an unfair disproportionate number of bookings opportunities.
However, I strongly object to Brigg TC being the ethic, or perceived moral gatekeeper to 'questionable' groups that want to use the bandstand.
The Brigg TC impose restrictions on political groups and there is/was an outstanding issue on whether a pro-life group could use the bandstand.
Whether we agree, or disagree to such groups' aims and beliefs these are not the issues....
everyone has the equal right to express their concerns (hatred and incitement exempt) and Brigg TC should not put itself on some sort of artificial moral high ground in a democratic community. The community is mature enough to decide and have its own opinions and beliefs and don't need Brigg TC morally gatekeeping the Bandstand...
The Bandstand is a public facility and I doubt whether Brigg TC would impose similar restrictions on the bookings for the Angel Suite, so why are there official restrictions on the use the bandstand?
There is no need to involve a third party in devising guidelines........
1. Open to all recognised community groups,
2. Bookings/usage restricted to 'x' number per annum.
3. Bookings, giving date and times to be made not more than 6 months in advance of the requested date.
4. Should double booking occur, priority will be given to the group which has had the least number of bookings during the last 12 months. Not withstanding the aforementioned, there will be a draw.
5. Groups failing to use, or not notifying Brigg TC with at least a one month's notice, will forfeit their booking, or potential booking for a period of six months..
Dead simps - sorted.....
