TRANSFORMING PINGLEY CAMP ON BRIGG BOUNDARY

These progress pictures show how things are coming along at the housing development on the site of the former Pingley Camp, off Bigby High Road – just a few yards over the Brigg border into West Lindsey.
Earth-moving machinery is now busy near to the A1084 and it’s a bit like a lunar landscape.
This is a far cry from the dark days of the Second World War, when Italian and German prisoners-of-war were housed in huts on this site.
For prestigious five-bedroomed executive homes are now being built in what is a country location although close to Brigg’s many facilities.
Pingley residents, once they move in, will deposit their council tax into West Lindsey District Council’s coffers in Gainsborough. But the boundaries have to be drawn somewhere.
The creation of Brigg Garden Centre and now the Pingley housing development would add credence to any call for the boundaries of Brigg to be extended a few hundred yards.
That’s if anyone in authority feels there should be a review undertaken, with full consultation.

My understanding is that the contractor is a specialist in bespoke housing.....he builds houses to the specification of the purchaser.........my further understanding is that West Lindsey has dictated that part (?half -nearest the road)of the site has to be affordable housing.....
It will be interesting to see what develops....will the bespoke builder build affordable housing, or will the affected part of the site remain fallow until the condition time expires over a number of years....
The bespoke landscape will incorporate a lake..
