Since both Carl Sherwood and Rob Waltham are also standing for NLC as Conservative Candidates, shouldn't they have declared their political allegiance on their application....or it is optional?

I thought they should declare their party allegiance Ken.
Obviously not , it may be intersting to see on the ballot papers if a party is highlighted.

There is NO requirement to declare political affiliation. Ted Appleyard, the extremly long-serving Barton councillor, used to put himself down as "Number One for Everyone" on his nomination form. In my long experience of Brigg Town Council (well over 30 years) it has never been bogged down by party political bickering or points-scoring. HERE ENDETH THE LESSON!
