TRAVEL FROM BRIGG TO LONDON BY TRAIN FOR £22.50

You can travel from Brigg to London by train for £22.50p, and some people are already doing just that.
But how many people are available of this bargain buy-in-advance ticket? Brigg Blog is happy to assist by publicising the fact.
Last Saturday the 11.48am train towards Retford was "well loaded with savvy travellers making the most of a bargain advance fare to London," says local railway supporter Phil Hewson.
He rightly says there's a need to make the people of Brigg and Kirton more aware of the railway line's potential.
Fellow campaigner Paul Johnson has kindly extracted online information (seen here) showing the fares currently available between Brigg and London and the capital and our town.

The  Brigg line is now enjoying "celebrity status" with train fans coming really long distances to ride along it.
This has been revealed by Phil through the popular Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway online forum. Passengers are travelling from far and wide to "do" the line.
There's real rarity value because passenger trains only run on Saturdays between Sheffield and Cleethorpes via Retford, Gainsborough, Kirton Lindsey, Brigg and Barnetby.
Just three trips are made in each direction on what formed part of the original Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway mainline.
Phil says that last Saturday passengers made their way from Orpington, Liverpool, Brighton and West Kirkby.

Because apart from support from Brigg Town Council and the Brigg Town business partnership there has been little support from North Lincolnshire County Council towards an improvement of services at Brigg and the Brigg line in general, the station area at Brigg which comes under the remit of North Lincolnshire Council is still in a diabolical nice and there has been very little support at all from your 3 North Lincolnshire councillors.
