CONGRATULATIONS ON 10 YEARS IN BRIGG LANDMARK BUILDING

Brigg Blog would like to add its congratulations to a business now celebrating 10 years in the town centre.
We are talking of the Lovelle Estate Agency, on Wrawby Street.
Many older Brigg Blog followers will recall the premises they occupy being the Congregational Chapel.
It was opened in 1813 - just a few years before the Buttercross, now housing the Tourist Information Centre.

How many folks have noticed the heathen images on the old chapel?
There are about 8 faces of the pre-Christian Green Man - male version of Mother Nature....but many churches incorporated the image.....perhaps hoping to show a continuation from Season worship to Christianity....similarly, Christmas Day was superimposed on a winter celebration day on the grounds of why ruin a major celebration, just re-adjust the focus...
