NO LIKEY NO LIGHTY IN BRIGG

With apologies to Paddy McGuinness and his always entertaining TV dating show, there's been a case of "no likey no lighty" this weekend on the A18 in Brigg.
Both sets of Pelican crossing lights have been out of action near JD Wetherspoon's White Horse pub and the China Garden takeaway. This, of course, means the crossing can't function.
We first noticed this on Friday evening, and the lights were still "out" yesterday when we drove by.
Hopefully, someone has been sent out to fix them. We'll take a look later and report back.
From time to time on Brigg Blog we mention the odd street light being out of action on housing estates. This must be annoying if you live in that part of town but not exactly requiring an immediate fix.
However, having a pedestrian crossing out of action for several days on a very busy road, and close to a grouped dwelling for pensioners, makes this issue a rather more pressing one.
North Lincolnshire Council, as the highway authority, has thousands of lights "on its watch" from Haxey to Goxhill and Redbourne to Barton.
Those in charge will prioritise traffic lights and pelican crossings, we are sure, when it comes to tackling ones that are out of action.
10am TUESDAY: Lights still out of action.

Something like that really makes some people cross, Nige.
